DIGITAL ELEMENTARY POETRY!!!

If you're like me, then teaching last quarter made your head swim a little! It took some time to figure out what works and what doesn't work digitally, and I've spent some time this summer reworking lessons so they will work in our new digital world. The first thing I did was revise my 10 Minute Poetry Comprehension Lessons. (Click the image to go directly to my store!)

Now, students can respond and reflect to all of the poems in Google Classroom. Teachers can upload a poem and students submit their work back - all online. This is PERFECT for remote learning, hybrid settings, or even in a physical classroom.

Suggestions for use:
1. Teach your 10 minute mini lesson. This can easily be done via Zoom, Google Meets, or another live video platform. Teacher direction cards are included.

2. Upload student assignment. Students can either complete on their own or during your mini lesson. If you want to guide students through the assignment, just pull up the poem page on your computer and share your screen.

3. Have each student keep a simple poetry journal/notebook so they can keep their brainstorming notes, visualization pictures, and anything else that you want them to do with these poems.

Definitely what I'm going to be using this year!
